TRACK THE ADD-ONS
Losing, maintaining or even gaining weight requires knowing how many calories you are taking in. With numerous calorie counting apps this has never been easier. However, many people still can’t reach their weight goals using these apps. There are many reasons why this is the case, but the one reason I consistently see is that my clients truly do not track everything.
They track their meals, snacks, and even drinks. However, one area they consistently miss is oils they cook with and condiments or sauces they use.
When you’re done reading this blog post quick grab a ketchup bottle. How many grams of sugar are it? More than you think. Grab that “healthy” salad dressing. Is it made with canola or soybean oil? Look at that healthy olive oil. How many calories in a tablespoon? Do you actually use just one tablespoon when dressing your salad?
These “add-ons” can make or break your weight management routine. Next time you use a calorie counting app make sure you log EVERYTHING.
